Caterina Gueli

Caterina Gueli is an Italian-Argentinian filmaker, editor and VJ currently based in Paris. After studying Political Science in Florence, she turned to documentary filmmaking, working as an editor in Rome while self-producing her first films: Resistencia (Avanti! Prize at Torino Film Festival 2007, Best F.O.B. at Genova Film Festival 2008) and La Fabril (Palais de Tokyo, Haus der Kulturen der Welt , 2012).
She collaborates with directors Felice D'Agostino and Arturo Lavorato on several films: Il Canto dei Nuovi Emigranti (Best Documentary at the Torino Film Festival and Bellaria in 2005), In attesa dell'Avvento (Best Short Film at the Venice Film Festival 2011, Orizzonti section), and Essi Bruciano Ancora (2017), and she acts in several films by Fabrizio Ferraro (Quattro Notti di uno Straniero, 2013; Checkpoint Berlin, 2020; Wanted, 2023).
Involved in participatory creative processes, she also works as a commited artist with a sensible public, and as a translator and surtitle stage manager in a number of Parisian theatres (Odéon, Théâtre de la Ville, Comédie Française).
